Pickup and drop-off may be arranged where possible, subject to location and scheduling. Any extra travel cost outside our usual area is agreed in advance. With Road Test Concierge, the student does not drive after the test.

We are Darren and Lynne Bateson. We started ABCDE to make learning to drive a calmer, more supportive experience for students and their families.
With over 20 years each of commercial and non-commercial driving experience, we bring patience, clear communication and a personal commitment to every lesson.
Students know what comes next. Parents know how things are going. We keep the process personal and straightforward.
Your town, your driving experience and what you would like help with. We listen before we plan.
We discuss availability and agree the lesson and meeting location. Your request becomes a booking once arrangements are confirmed.

Yes. We begin at your current level, explain things calmly and introduce more challenging driving as your skills and confidence develop. Mistakes are part of learning.
Your first two-hour lesson is $150 as a new student; regular lessons are $199. Each includes one-to-one instruction, discussion and a written end-of-lesson assessment. We tailor the session to your ability and experience.
After every lesson, we complete a structured assessment of progress, strengths and areas for practice. A copy is provided to the parent.
Where possible, depending on location and scheduling. We can also discuss another agreed meeting point. Any additional travel cost outside the usual area is agreed in advance.
